Description

One-piece reinforced polypropylene high-pressure injection gas molded piece. Chairs can be stacked up to 8 high.

The design of the Supernatural Chair was an evolution rather than being a design process - with a slender, liquid, organic form.

This bright, stackable and versatile chair was created using the sophisticated technology of injection moulding in glass fibre reinforced polypropylene.  The perforations to the back of the chair have the purpose of adding a multi-sensory effect to the chairs when light passes over them, to create shadows and offer the architectural surfaces an unexpected level of beauty. Suitable for outdoors.

Inspiration

The organic evolution of form

Multisensory design which calls out to be stroked, interpreted through touch and constantly re-processed. Its sinuous lines reach out into the space around it. Solids and voids, absences that become presences when they encounter light, air, the human body. The holes in the backrest, like a perforated screen, create enchanting games of light and shade, like the dappling of sunlight through tree leaves. Versatile, light, and very durable: Supernatural shakes off the usual role of prestigious object of design to become part of daily life, be it in the home or in public spaces.
